Sri Lanka's First Electric Supercar 'Vega EVX' unveiled at Geneva ... 

 An emerging local hi-tech innovation company took the automobile world by storm when it begins rolling out Sri Lanka’s first all-electric ‘supercar’ named Vega in the year. That is the Sri Lanka's' first made -ever luxury electric supercar named “Vega” in 2020, marking a new milestone in the island nation’s automobile industry.
The master-builder of the luxury car, techno-entrepreneur Harsha Subasinghe, who is the chief executive of CodeGen, said that, following a test drive of the Vega in the last year, the “supercar” will be launched at the annual International Motor Show in Geneva in 2020.
The vehicle was shipped from the Colombo harbor on 19 January and was reached its destination in February. The motor show had held from 5-15 March.Accordingto Vega’s first prototype, Vega EVX is unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show 2020.

“Unlike most electric supercars in the market, the electronics and software of the Vega EVX, along with the liquid-cooled battery pack and the motor-controller, were entirely designed and developed by the team. Moreover, the electronic vehicle controller, body controller, thermal control system, fully-digital infotainment system, and instrument cluster components, developed from the ground up, add to the product’s excellence and know-how of Vega Innovations,” said by the Director. Beshan Kulapala.

Vega EVX - Interior

The vega has a 300 Kw battery-powered car with a 240 km drive range and it is the first-ever luxury, all-electric ‘supercar’ made in not only Sri Lanka,  but also in the Asian region. The ‘supercar’ label is used for such as high-powered and high-speed luxury cars.
This all-electric supercar is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive drivetrain delivering 804 HP and 720 NM of torque. This two-seater supercar showcases advanced multidisciplinary technology applications and a skilfully fabricated lightweight carbon fiber body.

Sri Lankan Startup Set To Reveal Vega EVX Electric Supercar

Vega can accelerate from zero-to-100 mph in 3.1 seconds quickly. It has a 900 bhp supercar engine and it is designed both interior and exterior and manufactured locally.

Its electronics, battery, lights, and all features are also locally made sans the motor and battery cell. The battery pack, controllers, and all other parts also made in Sri Lanka. Now, this car can go at a maximum speed of 260 kmph. It has a reliable battery pack unlike any other imported electric cars in Sri Lanka. Its battery can be charged within 15 minutes.


The vital task of handling logistical services for this high-priced vehicle is placed in the hands of the Maersk International Group, chosen for its vast experience and knowledge in dealing with such consignments.
